MCU Co-Stars Criticise Evangeline Lilly For Attending Anti-Vax Rally

Evangeline Lilly is facing backlash for attending an anti-vax rally in Washington, DC.

She confirmed her attendance on social media, before explaining that she opposes government mandated vaccines. She said, “I believe nobody should ever be forced to inject their body with anything.” She continued by saying, “I understand the world is in fear, but I don’t believe that answering fear with force will fix our problems.”

Vaccines have been proven to reduce the risk of COVID-19, hugely decreasing the likelihood of hospitalisation or death.

Response From The MCU

Her statements have attracted criticism from many fans, as well as fellow MCU stars. Simu Liu highlighted the importance of vaccines by saying, “I lost my grandparents to COVID last year. They were still waiting for their vaccines. I’m fortunate to have been double-vaccinated and boosted when I got COVID 2 weeks ago. Felt like a cold.”

Unfortunately, this position isn’t shared by all his fellow MCU stars. Letitia Wright has also received criticism for refusing to be vaccinated. She recently denied sharing anti-vax views on the Black Panther 2 set. Before that, she said she wasn’t against vaccines but that it was important to “ask questions”.

David Dastmalchian, who played Kurt in Ant-Man and the Wasp, said, “It’s so unfortunate when people with a large platform use that platform to share irresponsible things.”

Joe Rogan is also currently under fire for spreading COVID-19 misinformation on his podcast platform.

Lilly is set to star in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, slated for a 2023 release.
