Nicolas Cage is having a hell of a resurgence in his career, and rightfully so. The actor is simultaneously one of the best and one of the wildest actors ever, and he’s spoken about his desire to be in a sequel to The Batman.
The Batman released earlier this month to critical and commercial fanfare. People are already referring to it as one of the greatest Batman movies ever made, and as you’d expect, people are planning for a sequel. While there’s been several hints and teases towards the appearance of the Joker in a potential sequel, Nicolas Cage has different ideas.
Nicolas Cage as Egghead
When Cage was asked about a role that he hasn’t played yet that he’d like to play during an interview post-screening of his newest title, The Unbearable Weight Of Masssive Talent, he said the following:
“I like… oh, here’s something. I’ve been thinking about this, because we have this new, Robert Pattinson as the Batman, which I’m excited to see it, I haven’t seen it yet, but I think he would be terrific. The villain that Vincent Price played on the ’60s show, Egghead. I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I could make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros. I’m down for Egghead.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Nicholas Cage was in a Superhero movie. He played the titular character in the Ghost Rider movies and also voiced Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
Do you think that Nicolas Cage would make a good Egghead in a The Batman sequel?
